Pc activates briefly before shutting down, unsure if it's a PSU or RAM issue.
I recently changed a PC that I haven’t powered on for about six or seven years—specifically the motherboard and CPU—but when I turned it on, it only lit up briefly before shutting down. I suspect the power supply unit might be the issue, though the cosmetic LED on the motherboard did turn on with previous models. I also tried using a paper clip on the PSU; the fan spun for about a second before stopping, and when I turned it off, I heard a click, which suggests it’s entering passive cooling mode. I’m unsure whether I need to replace the PSU or the RAM, as I only have enough budget for one replacement.
Tell me the precise brand, model, and quantity of RAM sticks you have.
