You just received your 500gb Samsung Evo SSD and completed a C-transfer. You're planning to use an older 1tb WD for general storage, intending to store videos and photos inside folders in E. It seems you might have overlooked the folder structure, causing both "Videos" and "Pictures" to point to the same location. After correcting the path, you encountered an access issue: "The folder can't be moved here, Access denied." You're unsure what went wrong and are struggling to fix it. You attempted registry edits with no success and considered resetting user accounts or reinstalling Windows, but neither seems appealing. Could someone help before you have to try more drastic solutions? Thanks ahead! Your specs look like a solid setup (i5 4690k, GTX 960, etc.), but the troubleshooting is tricky.

Launch Explorer at c:/users/your name. Click on the folder you wish to relocate, then go to Properties, choose Location. Enter e:/Pictures or your desired path. If you lack access rights, acquire ownership of the drive. Without any files on the E drive, simply reformat it to remove remaining Windows installation files.

I created a new folder in e, completed all steps, attempted to relocate it but encountered "The specified path does not exist." Moved the pictures folder to desktop, then returned it to my user folder where it vanished. It seems I have sufficient permissions. My account lists me as administrator, and security checks confirm administrators have full access. There are two folders with content, which I moved easily to desktop without issues. My concern is restoring my pictures and videos folders to their usual places after reformatting—will they revert to the default location?

It seems the files appear in your user directory but aren't showing up in the search results. Checking hidden items didn't help. Could be a permissions issue or a misconfiguration.
