I inquired about that. Also, is each room equipped with an ethernet port? The white box contains all the cables linking to individual rooms. That’s what the client replied... Yes, most rooms have ports. Or does this person misunderstand? He mentioned Verizon connected one ethernet to the office. No, only those specific rooms are wired. The others are just plugged in at the box. They took the connections from the den, added a connector for setting up the router in the main area—like the office. The remaining units are still waiting because the technicians didn’t have time to fully reconnect everything. He mentioned something about the previous homeowner... Good morning. Which one? The terminal at the top seems to be the main connection point from your source, but it’s not linked to anything. It looks like the last owner disconnected the office/den and kitchen, wired them to a female connector, then connected those two to their modem/router and phone line. The Verizon representative who set up the system followed that approach. I’m struggling to understand what’s happening. I’m only visiting now due to COVID-19.
I'm trying to locate the yellow cable... This seems like a tricky repair. I'm sure there are several options available. Make sure you understand the placement of each part before making any changes. It's frustrating when you try to fix something that failed because you misplaced a line.
It seems the person who handled the telephone patch panel treated it like an Ethernet connection. However, this port is actually for a security system only. The patch panel isn't meant for Ethernet use. If the ports are genuine Ethernet ports, you should be able to connect them directly to a switch.
