I checked my GTA 5 update and it improved speeds by about 70%, which should take roughly 5 minutes. Instead, it reached around 88%, cutting the time to about 1 minute and 55 seconds. At the start, it felt like a 16-minute game. My system includes an Intel Xeon E5-2600 (Athlon X4 860k OC) with 4 GHz, 10 GB RAM, and a GTX 970. The game runs smoothly on an 8-year-old laptop HDD, which still performs well in CrystalDiskMark. I'm really surprised by this patch.

It’s important to remember that the person who solved the problem didn’t have access to the source code, so their fix was essentially a temporary solution. If you want a deeper technical understanding, his blog post is very insightful: https://nee.lv/2021/02/28/How-I-cut-GTA-...mes-by-70/ The official update is indeed quicker because developers with source code access can replace the problematic JSON parser directly. It’s interesting they responded promptly after his announcement, yet it seemed odd that they hadn’t investigated the issue themselves first.
