I switched to the correct jumper. The password jumper functioned. I bought an HP Pavilion TG01-2170m barebones and it started working properly. It launches Windows without issues. However, entering the BIOS needs an admin password. You can view system details and reach the boot menu, but you can't access the BIOS settings. I tested several passwords—"password," "admin," "12345"—but none worked. It appears the BIOS has limited changes, yet I still need admin rights. The password jumper on the motherboard seems ineffective. Is this a default setting from HP, or did the previous owner add it? It feels odd to restrict the BIOS while keeping the OS accessible.
