Check your setup: a 2 quad Q8400 at 2.6 GHz, 6GB DDR2 RAM on an MSI GT730, 2GB VRAM. Running Windows 8 64-bit—pass? Look for affordable upgrades like a budget DDR3 RAM stick or an entry-level CPU if needed.

the ram configuration is 2+1+2+1. you might consider increasing the cpu speed to 3gHz by performing basic pad taping to extract more performance. otherwise, a more recent low-end graphics card would likely be the best upgrade option.

Calculate the sum: 2 plus 2 plus 2 equals 6.
To boost your CPU, try improving your system's performance with better hardware or software updates.

You need an additional 2 gigs to enable dual channel. The tape is what you must do.

Really? Just a small piece of tape? Might it harm your PC?

It prevents any harm by masking the FSB detection from the motherboard. Instead of operating at 1000 MHz, it adjusts to 1333MHz (similar to an older BCLK setting), causing the CPU to run at 3GHz (likely a multiplier of 9.5). In most scenarios, it doesn’t require additional voltage and doesn’t impact stability.
