It seems you're exploring ways to partition a single drive using MBR format across different operating systems—Mac OS Extended Journaled, NTFS, and Linux (ext4). If you've attempted this without success, let me know so I can help troubleshoot.

MBR operates across the entire system, but consider using GPT for better performance. For sharing files, exFAT is recommended. Any file system works on a partition, MBR doesn’t restrict that. What are your goals?

I noticed the partition choice was disabled during the MBR formatting step in the OS X/macOS installation screen. This behavior is documented in official guides and user forums, confirming it was a known setting for that format type.

And I'm sure about this? Mac OS X has been available with Intel Macs from when they launched.
