I changed my OS partition to active to prepare for conversion to GPT, as mentioned in the YouTube tutorial. Now whenever I boot into Windows, it shows an OS not detected error and prompts me to restart using Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Could you help? I don’t have a USB drive available until tomorrow, so any solution right now would be greatly appreciated.

The video you're referring to seems misleading. I changed all the drives on your main rig to GPT without needing any of the steps mentioned. Check if your BIOS is set to UEFI or Legacy Mode—wait for the USB drive if you need to preserve your data.

It started as CSM or Legacy. I attempted to boot into UEFI and then back to CSM, but both versions displayed the same issue. Probably best to hold off since I don’t want to risk losing any information.

The drive is now a GPT or MBR. Please share a link to the video and let me know where you paused. I suggest using tools like Macrium Reflect for backup just in case.

GPT is required when your storage exceeds 2TB or you wish to boot using UEFI only. This applies specifically to Windows 11. It appears you may have altered the boot sector or performed another action that disrupted it, so consider repairing the MBR as a potential solution.

It remains MBR, I haven't finished the conversion. I'm planning to upgrade to Windows 11.

I made no other changes. I switched it to active mode and restarted the computer. After that, I couldn't get back into Windows. I didn't perform any conversion.

You should revert the BIOS settings to Legacy mode. I’ll share a demonstration of the process I followed on one of my machines, along with a recording of me resolving the issue, and I’ll include the video link here.
