Hey everyone, I used to really enjoy LAN parties when I was younger and they were more popular. I started noticing new small games at CES and tech reviewers mentioning some cool options for LAN setups. I wondered if they’re still around today. I haven’t heard any local listings in a while, and some of my friends who travel don’t seem to be going either. I thought it’d be good to ask the community what their thoughts are. Do you think these events are fading out now? Are there still people who attend LAN parties or know someone who does?

A friend had a guest stay at their home in August. They’re still alive, but they’re quite unusual these days.

In the UK, I've only noticed businesses with a van that accommodates a LAN party within, aside from professional events.

I along with a few pals hosted regular LAN gatherings, but recently things have slowed down. It's not great that we're no longer all in the same place.

We usually gather with friends regularly, though it's mainly affected by internet performance and connection problems. LAN gatherings remain important in the U.S.

I've hosted LAN gatherings for three years here in Estonia, so they're still going strong as long as there are players involved. I think fewer events might be happening because some people aren't as engaged in organizing. It's tough to secure sponsors and volunteers.

I hope they’re still around. I spent a lot of fun with my friends in his basement, playing Borderlands over LAN. Most of the Game Spy servers weren’t running then, so it was perfect!
