Before I begin my complaint, let me say sorry—I stumbled across a few posts that look alike but aren’t quite the same. I bought some games during today’s Steam sale and figured I’d have fun over the weekend. When I tried to launch one (Star Wars: Squadrons), it crashed right away on a gray screen. After some research, I learned you need to connect an EA account to your Steam account. I created one, but it said I was already signed in. I reset my password and asked for identity verification via email, which came up with a random address ending in @disabled.ea.com. I reached out to EA support, who told me my account had been deleted for a clear reason. So I decided to sign up again. When I tried to make a new account, they said an account with that email already exists. How can this be? It feels like data protection rules are being broken and it’s frustrating not being able to join a game. I’ve attached the chat transcript for your reference.
