It wouldn't damage any software when you install an ATI Radeon X700 with a RX6600. You can still use it just for basic displays such as watching YouTube or similar content.

Get the displayport mapping to the appropriate adapters. The X700 model is quite outdated and may cause driver conflicts with the RX6600, especially if it struggles to install the latest Vista drivers on Windows 10 or 11. Definitely a problem.

adapters are more affordable than the headache that follows. DP to DVI costs around $8-15, varying by location.

Are you attempting to link an older monitor that only has VGA and DVI ports to a PC running an RX6600? If yes, using a DVI-HDMI cable would be the most suitable option. I followed this approach when connecting my previous monitor to a PC with an RX580. Yes, the RX580 supports DVI, but I chose HDMI for convenience...
