Hello. I just reinstalled Windows 10 for a quick cleanup, but before I removed everything, I saved a screenshot of my documents folder. To prevent this in the future, you could consolidate all game configuration files into a single gaming folder instead of letting them spread across multiple documents folders.

It's typical. The majority of game files and saves are stored in those directories.

During installation, the program typically creates its own directory, which you can observe. However, it prompts for confirmation. For future installations, opt for a custom path such as "C:\My Game Folder\video game folder" instead of the default. This ensures all games reside in "My Game Folder," keeping everything organized in a single location.

Windows created the Documents folder to organize common user files. Developers choose tools like My Games or custom folders for these items. Deleting or relocating files can cause software issues, leading to lost saves and repeated folder creation. Simply leave the folder intact, remove it from the library view, and let it disappear completely.
