Windows 7's Aero feature for tablets and phones isn't relevant here. Maintain the tiles in their proper places. Display on desktop PC screens and mobile devices. I've been using Windows 8/8.1 for more than nine months. Yet, I rely on Classic Shell to provide a desktop and start menu experience similar to Windows 7. This version is significantly better.

I honestly don't see how there is crap everywhere every time you turn on your computer. "not you specifically" But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I've noticed the sleek, contemporary design of Windows 8 featuring rectangles, squares, and crisp edges. I haven't tried it myself because I'm still using Windows 7...

I understand I prefer Windows 8 but dislike its interface. This poll isn't about comparing operating systems—it's about which one performs better once the UI is removed.

I really struggle with the stock setup of Windows 8/.1—it's way too complicated. The advanced features they added don’t fit touch screens well. Even though the new OS claims better performance, it doesn’t make a difference for me; it’s not noticeable. I own Windows 8.1 on another machine, so I can experiment, but I haven’t been able to complete any tasks.
