It seems the issue might be with the display manager, including the login screen. With enough troubleshooting, most problems can be resolved, though it might not be worth the effort.

It depends on the context. If you're unsure, removing the user might be a good way to start fresh without needing to create a new one.

I encountered an issue and resolved it by updating the file, changing all old usernames to new ones, and then restarting the system.
