You're using Fedora 29, and when launching Gnome Software you encounter an issue: "I don't think it's anything serious." Despite being able to install and update software, the error persists even after applying the latest updates. The screenshot you took showed available updates, which you installed, but the problem remains.

Systemctl status fwupd displays the current state of the fwupd service. It indicates whether the service is running, paused, or stopped. This helps confirm that the firmware update process is functioning correctly.

● The firmware update service is not starting properly. It encountered a failure while attempting to load the update engine. The system reported an exit code indicating the process did not complete successfully. Details can be found in the documentation at the provided link.

It looks like the issue stems from a corrupted database. I couldn't locate any online fixes for this problem. You might need to manually restart the service using `sudo systemctl restart fwupd`. If it doesn’t work, consider opening a GitHub issue as this appears to be a bug.

Error occurred while processing the job for fwupd.service. Check system logs for more information. I will review them.

This resolved the issue by eliminating gnome-software since it was marked as a required dependency.

It didn’t resolve the issue. I believed it would, but it didn’t. Frustrating.

It might be due to the removal not actually deleting the data—unfortunately I can't locate its storage.

I'll start looking into it. If I can't solve it on my own, I'll document it on GitHub.
