Hello everyone! It seems most of you are already aware of the AM5 problems, such as overheating and similar issues. Things get even more complicated because I own an Asus X670E Hero, which is one of the worst cases for this. Steve from GN already demonstrated the performance drop without Expo/DOCP, which is quite disappointing. Right now, I'm using the newest BIOS (version 1410) with a SoC Voltage under 1.3V and DOCP I. My question is: what should I do? I'm considering inspecting my CPU contacts to check for any burn marks or damage, similar to Der8auer's video. Is this a good idea? I'm curious if Asus will ever release a BIOS with proper OCP values and other safeguards as suggested by GN.

You're using an ASUS B650 Plus with Wi-Fi, 7700X, and EXPO activated on your RAM. Everything is functioning smoothly for the past few months.

My BIOS version isn't available on the BIOS website for my board.

Still, I believe the B650 offers better safety compared to the X670E right now.

It could be. I'm not too concerned since I'm using a 4080 and the new connector didn't cause any issues (it failed in media but only affected 0.02% of cards sold). I believe the 7000/ASUS issue seems more common but not severe enough to worry me. What's impressive is how Asus is handling the situation—it's really surprising and concerning.

Using the 7700X shouldn't cause too much concern. If you were on an X3D, I'd notice it more. Mine has been running smoothly since December with EXPO without any problems (7700x).

It's not just about X3D chips; those are the most frequently mentioned. Honestly, I’m hesitant to set up a Ryzen 7000 build right now. We still don’t fully understand the extent of the issue, and it could take months or even years to see more problems. Once things get worse, there’s no going back. It could lead to your CPU failing soon or later, which feels premature considering I haven’t experienced a CPU die in decades.

I never claimed it was. There aren't enough examples yet to feel overly concerned, in my view. What's frustrating is how ASUS is handling this situation.
