Absolutely, I think it's mainly their algorithm logic designed for a game that no longer exists. The assumptions are outdated, and they haven't had enough time to properly address the issues.

That’s a clear breakdown, often the most straightforward point is exactly that… but it still confuses me. For instance, just using an average playtime would be better than what’s available now (it has to be). It’s really obvious they just grouped all newcomers together—those players seem to have no strategy and think everything is Call of Duty. (I know this from other games too.) They don’t realize you need to protect a position on control maps, which I’ve experienced firsthand. I’m usually the only one holding off a team of five, and my squad is miles away—not just because they keep respawning, but because it’s frustrating. You can only hope things improve and bugs are fixed as the season progresses, since right now it’s not enjoyable. You either win easily or have no chance. There’s also a strange and annoying footstep issue right now; it doesn’t make sense, but they had it fixed before. I remember replaying a match yesterday after the patch but before the season started, and it disappeared before I could save it. But today it’s back! This also highlights how many players aren’t aware of the changes. I do this often, kind of like Metal Gear—because it usually works. Against less experienced teams, they probably think I’m a teammate or just don’t notice me. Yes, this usually happens more than once; they don’t learn. : p

Just to confirm, you're sure about this? I double-checked recently and it seems her ultimate only lasts a brief moment—possibly even shorter now. The second try also had issues, freezing enemies and then thawing them again, but it never stayed more than a couple of seconds. So it's definitely not working anymore.

Blizzard cut the rules down to a minimum on many maps, and no updated map reflects that. What’s the point? It’s just a minor detail that makes a big difference. You’re right—it’s like teammate footsteps are too loud, making enemies sound nearby. Quickplay has been giving wild, random results lately. We sometimes want high-level players, other times I feel like a skilled killer because they don’t move much. Those two hours of progress since 2017 finally paid off.

It's the standard timer, but I'm seeing something new. I can try it out. Usually frozen targets in the circle thaw after a brief pause when activated. It feels like the old Mei freeze timer with her gun, but now it's happening instantly as if the timer was removed.

Yeah, but there are also enemies, right? It sounds like something is moving above you in a house, but no one is there. On the street it feels like someone is behind you, yet nobody is around. That’s pretty annoying. I saw the same thing on Reddit too—it’s about the same idea. Also, every five seconds there’s a “watch out sniper” alert, which is really frustrating because you still don’t know where it’s coming from and it keeps happening too often. Lol, I guess I just hope they fix this soon. I’m sure it won’t last forever, but it’s confusing because it changes a lot. In training it lasts about three seconds, which already feels short, but in-game it’s just a second. I’m checking old videos to compare. By the way, my teammates seemed confused too—they tried to kill someone but it didn’t work because they moved again. That’s weird, I don’t see this mentioned anywhere, though there are similar bugs with other characters.

P.S.: I think I just played the first game where both teams were only new players. It was fun! My team did well, but I stayed in the spot we needed to control because it didn’t look like they were coming to defend it. It was easy and fun, except for one player who kept trying to kill me—exactly what I’d have done too. Big Grin

maybe coincidence but i think probably not... i noticed the first few matches are usually terrible with really weird/random teams, but then it keeps getting better, like it reevaluates your gameplay/ results every session (at least it seems part of the whole algorithm - pretty weird, kinda works, should be explained to players though, there's really a severe lack of explanations anyway... you really just have to learn while doing... *especially* crass with Mercy... the fly mechanics and stuff are completely beyond me and they don't tell you except some weird symbols on the buttons... but im doing ok... after a few matches im getting the hang of it, except the flying thing haha) Lol because you mentioned Widowmaker, my best match so far had to be with a bunch of pro players, and especially the Widowmaker was crazy... lots a mid air 1 shots etc... had good healers too... i was Mei, i did ok, at least we didn't lose! But yeah, some really skilled people and probably the opposite team wasn't even that great but definitely better than beginner... I don't really know what you mean by that? to me it still feels really bugged, like there's a delay to everything she does... really bad for me because i was definitely abusing her abilities, going into the ice shield last second etc... that just doesn't work anymore most of the time, and my ping etc definitely didn't change. (currently playing all roles queue with D.Va, because funny enough it makes me tank most of the time, or healer, then literally have Mercy for my team ~ although we really didn't do so bad so far)

It's odd but there are quite a few bugs in season 3. What I was talking about is that players stay stuck for a bit after the ult finishes. This timer is similar to Mei's old freezing ability with her gun. Once a player gets knocked out, pulled, or something similar, that timer kicks in and then they can unfreeze. That’s the usual process. Now instead of a second freeze when they leave the ult, they just unfreeze right away. It’s really strange and doesn’t match how it should work.

Sure, I think that's the point... probably some shadow nerf or a bug, but honestly it's really bad.

Wow, that's interesting. It's really disappointing to see her miss out on value from the ult, though I guess I don't get into Mei much.
