The issue has already caused frustration, and I share that sentiment. Overwatch really stands out, but this problem could be a major turnoff for many, particularly those who don’t use 16:9 screens.
I want to ensure everyone has an equal chance, so I’m pushing for that.
Those who understand the benefits of gameplay can secure an edge over others. It's unlikely people invest time in mastering map layouts, positioning, communication, or even reviewing advanced settings. This also raises concerns about whether they accommodate players with better FPS, higher refresh rates, or precise mouse control. All these factors provide more advantage than simply changing your character type, unlike a FOV slider which isn't universally applicable and can be frustrating for players needing to look up in a vertical field of view.
