After testing all options, I decided to clear my windows without saving files and it resolved the issue. It's not a stuttering problem anymore—it feels like the game is running smoothly at around 25 fps even though the counter shows 70 fps. Previously, it worked well in fullscreen and borderless mode, but now it's not. The problem began after encountering an error while playing yesterday: "Your rendering device has been lost. Closing application." I discovered a few fixes: 1) Capping the FPS—my display is 60Hz, so setting it to 140 helped avoid GPU overheating; 2) Enabling V-sync caused more input lag, so I set my taskbar to auto-hide. Installing WinExplorer removed the title bar, making it borderless, but it actually made the game stutter again. Current specs: GPU 860m, CPU i7 4710HQ. Steps taken: reset in-game settings and reinstalled driver updates via DDU.

It might be due to your GPU or CPU overheating. Keep an eye on the temperatures during gameplay and ensure they don’t become too high.

Overwatch shows a temporary temperature reading. At 70 FPS display limit it's typically 70-75°C. If I remove the frame cap, it rises to around 80°C. I attempted a battle net scan and repair, but it reported no issues.

Use the HW monitor to view your activity, verify if background applications are active.

I was just playing Overwatch, but the game became really poor. I think I reached my 4GB RAM limit on my LAN setup, and closing the two Chrome tabs fully fixed the problem.

CPU performance sits near half capacity, GPU operates close to 80% under display-based limits (around 70 FPS). RAM utilization hovers around 66%, and background activity remains minimal—about 99% of the time.
