Last month I observed elevated CPU temperatures, reaching up to 96 during peak loads. I opted to install fresh thermal paste, cleaned both the CPU and water cooler plates with alcohol, then used a dry wipe to confirm no moisture remained. The temps stayed acceptable for several days before they spiked back into the high 90s again. Each time I applied new paste, it remained stable for a short period. Eventually, I upgraded to the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. I applied it carefully, ensuring even coverage without spillage. The readings were excellent until today when temperatures surged once more to 96. Besides replacing the CPU or cooler, I’m uncertain about the root cause. Monitoring the pump RPM via HWMonitor showed a steady 1950, while CPU-Z stress tests indicated around 94°C. Feeling the pipes with my fingers, one became noticeably hotter than the other. Core temperatures were consistently between 40 and 50 initially, then gradually climbed to the high 90s. The cooler’s spring mechanism prevents over-tightening; I adjusted tightness accordingly, but results stayed similar after a few days. CPU model: Ryzen 5600x Cooler: Msi Coreliquid 240R

Unfortunately, AIO coolers tend to fail over time and eventually stop working completely after extended use. Even if the fans and pump seem fine, the system may still lose coolant. In reality, there should always be one pipe slightly warmer than the other to move the liquid away from the CPU to the radiator. Personally, I’ve switched from AIO to tower coolers because they perform better and are more reliable. It seems your AIO is likely beyond repair.

I used the extra AMD cooler instead of the AOI water cooler, and the temps dropped significantly. I plan to get a Noctua air cooler next. Thanks for your help!
