I recently purchased a Ryzen 5 3600 and experienced high temperatures—55°C at idle, 80-85°C during gaming, and 92-95°C on Cinebench. I fixed the problem by adjusting the speed to 3.9 GHz in BIOS, which brought the temps back down to normal. (45°C idle, 60-62°C gaming, 70-72°C Cinebench). I noticed the voltage has dropped to 1.1V and remains steady even after no changes. I’m worried this might be harmful and unsure if I’m doing something wrong. Could this damage the CPU? Also, I’m concerned about missing out on the processor’s potential since I’ve set it to 3.9 GHz. I’m a casual gamer who enjoys the FPS at these settings and just want to confirm I’m not making mistakes. By the way, using a stock Wraith cooler and starting from scratch with basic knowledge is fine.

They seem typical with the box cooler. I recommend a budget aftermarket option such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo or Black Edition for around 30-40 dollars. They perform better and operate more quietly.

However, my output stays locked at 1.1v regardless of usage—idle, gaming (CS:GO, BFV, Warzone, NBA 2K). Just a quick check.

Here it is quiet, around 40c idle. Light load runs at about 50c, perfect for casual gaming under 60c. When things get tougher, it climbs past 72-75c (Cinebench too). The stock Wraith cooler isn’t designed for overclocking—especially with R5 3600. It gets super hot quickly if you push it that way.

I haven't made any changes and it heated up quickly. It reached a stable state around 3.9.
