Initially, I’m aware this model tends to run warm overall. Over time I’ve managed to keep it stable, usually between 78-84°C during peak heat. Once I disabled the power-saving mode in my BIOS, I noticed a significant boost but the CPU quickly exceeded 100°C, causing the system to shut down for safety. Now even with power-saving mode enabled, temperatures can rise up to 95°C. This happens regardless of whether the side panel is on or off. My setup includes a Corsair 780t with two front fans bringing in cool air and one back fan expelling heat. I’ve been using a Corsair H115 Pro for about six years before switching to a Thermalright FC140, but results remain similar. When playing Oblivion Remastered, I’m sitting around 70-75°C, peaking at 83°C with the side panel off. However, my room stays extremely hot and dust accumulates rapidly. My ambient temperature is roughly 73-75°C. I’ve checked both the CPU and motherboard, and no heat damage is visible. Any advice would be appreciated. Just before purchasing the new CPU cooler a couple of days ago, I thoroughly cleaned my AIO and tried re-pasting it, even though I mistakenly used the Frost Commander setting. I also repasted it multiple times because I accidentally set the wrong temperature. Finally, I bought fresh paste—Artic Silver 4.

Usually the CPU would slow down before any harm from overheating occurs, based on what I've seen

Checking the VCore voltage reported by HWiNFO during CPU load. Reviewing the package’s power usage stats. The 10850K tends to get very hot at its standard voltage. https://www.techspot.com/downloads/7579-...h-r23.html I own a 10850K and a 240mm H100i RGB Pro XT. https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/p/cpu-cool...9060043-ww CPU temps are excellent. I prefer quiet operation, so I keep the case fans off except for the two on the AIO. https://i.imgur.com/zJuSAPA.png Intel cooling throttles right away if any core hits 100°C. The whole chip slows dramatically if it must, keeping temps under 100°C. Some thermal paste may wear out after prolonged exposure near that point. Think Honeywell PTM 7950 – it performs well and lasts longer. How do you spread the paste and how thick are you applying? A bit more is better than none.
