Hi, today I installed a new PC but encountered the warning "overcurrent detected in USB device!" during startup. The system will automatically shut down after 15 seconds to safeguard the main board. I have a Ryzen 5 7600X with an MSI Pro B650M-A wifi motherboard, a Corsair RM850e 850W power supply. I attempted to boot without any USB devices connected, though all ports appear functional. I removed the USB connections from the motherboard’s front I/O and tried resetting the CMOS battery. After disconnecting and reconnecting all power cables, I’m unsure what else to do except reach out to MSI for a replacement. Are there alternative solutions I should consider?

Yes, construct the system beyond the case onto the motherboard enclosure. Use only essential parts.

Regarding internal USB2, USB3.1 and USB headers for front panel connections, consider testing the build system on the mainboard box outside. The IO panel seems misaligned—confirm all standoffs behind the mainboard are properly installed and positioned.
