I'm an engineering student who just assembled my first PC featuring a Ryzen 9 5900X. Alongside that, I installed a 3080 and a 3080 CPUs, though the latter remains a dream. As a curious newcomer, I explored overclocking and set my CPU to 4.45 GHz with a 1.33 V core voltage, staying under the 1.35 V limit for stability. I also turned on XMP for my 32GB CL16 RAM at 3200 MHz and enabled PBO+Curve Optimiser with the motherboard's power settings. The surprising part is that my system sometimes reports a clock speed of 5.3 GHz during peak loads. I ran Cinebench R23 for a 10-minute test and got 21 passes, a score above 27,000, with temperatures under 85°C using a Noctua NH-D15 cooler. I’m not aiming for records, just trying to understand what’s happening here. I’m happy to share details about my hardware and configuration if that helps.
The BIOS settings don't support exceeding the 5.15 GHz PBO boost limit, which is why reaching 5.35 GHz remains unattainable. It seems the single-core enhancement was a misunderstanding.
