Overclocking tips for 5820K/Asus X99 Pro with 32GB DDR4 RAM!
Hi, I'm still getting the hang of overclocking and would love a bit more power for music production. I've already pushed it to 4.2 ghz with 1.184 V, it works fine most of the time but sometimes it crashes and shows a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR screen. The voltage seems too high compared to what others share online. I only changed the base clock to 42 and vcore to 1.184V, but I'm wondering if adjusting further or reducing the voltage could help stability. I've tried lower voltages before without much improvement. Did I miss something important? For cooling, I use a Nepton 240m watercooler, and with these settings it stays around 50°C during full load AIDA64 stability tests.

I'm unsure about the best configuration and want to maximize performance, so please let me know what you recommend. Thanks a lot!
most online resources about haswell overclocking suggest you're generally safe up to 1.3V for the CPU voltage. If you encounter BSOD at 1.184V, it's advisable to increase the voltage slightly and perform stress tests to verify stability under full load. Intel XTU and Asus Realbench are excellent starting points for testing. Cinebench R15 also serves as a reliable indicator.
