On my FX-8320 (stable at 4.3ghz with multiplier only), when I raise the FSB speed by 1mhz, the CPU temperature jumps to 78°C (thermal limit on the chip, rarely exceeds 50°C at 4.3ghz), even though voltages stay the same and it runs only at 3.52ghz. When attempting to boost FSB to 202mhz (2mhz OC on FSB), the BIOS reported corruption and reloaded from the second BIOS (good luck the 78lmt-usb3 supports dual BIOS!). Anyone know why?

Changing the FSB affects the overall system performance.
I understand, it shouldn't be a problem since I have a solid motherboard, ample RAM (1x 8GB Crucial Ballistx Sport @1600mhz, 2x 4GB GSkill Ripjaws @2133mhz, running at 1600mhz because of the crucial stick speed, a good PSU like EVGA 650 GQ, etc.).

Modifying the FSB affects the overall system speed.

I get where you're coming from, but even a small FSB change can cause crashes.
The only other possibilities are that you've reached a bottleneck or need a slight increase in voltage for the chipset.
Have you tried testing without your GPU? The FSB adjustment might be interfering with your GPU timing.

I’m aware it shouldn’t be a big problem since I have a solid motherboard and ample RAM (1x 8GB Crucial Ballistx Sport @1600mhz, 2x 4GB GSkill Ripjaws @2133mhz – running at 1600mhz thanks to the crucial stick, a decent PSU like EVGA 650 GQ, etc.).
I get where you’re coming from, but even a small FSB tweak can cause crashes.
The only other possibilities are that your system is stuck in a bottleneck or needs a slight voltage increase for the chipset.

I own an R9 270 and have no issues with GPU instability (I’ve done good overclocking) and the voltage matches my 4.3ghz multiplier setting, which keeps temperatures around 50°C max.
