Hello, when Intel Turbo Boost is enabled in your BIOS, your i9-9900K operates at 4.7GHz instead of the default 3.6GHz. I usually disable it because of past issues with ASUS motherboards and their auto-overclocking software, which caused problems due to my limited knowledge. Since I rebuilt the system and fixed things, I’ve gained some understanding. Should I keep it at 4.7GHz and skip further tweaks, or let the motherboard handle everything automatically? It’s been stable for about a month at base speed with XMP enabled. Details: I recently rebuilt my PC using ASUS AI software, which damaged my chip. The board is Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390, the graphics are RTX 2070, RAM is Vengeance 4x16 at 3200MHz with XMP, cooling uses NZXT water coolers plus extra case fans. The PSU is an EVGA 850 GQ with a Corsair Hx850i coming soon.
The 9900K would require Turbo Boost enabled, and "MultiCore Enhancement" turned off. This adjustment is the motherboard's tweaking for a technical overclock. It's also recommended to set the base clock to 100 MHz. XMP functions as an overclock, though I haven't encountered problems with it on Intel systems.
