I'm testing ASROCK TAICHI X370 X370 RYZEN 7 with a 1700 MHz CPU, 24GB RAM, and RGB lighting. It runs smoothly at 30°C idle and handles high loads without issues. Temperatures rise to around 70°C under full CPU load. I'm stable at 4.0GHz with 1.4V and 3200MHz RAM, but crashes in Cinebench R15 when pushing higher speeds or doing FPU-heavy tasks. Cache seems fine. The problem with Cinebench R20 is it keeps failing unexpectedly. Possible causes include overheating, unstable BIOS settings, or insufficient cooling. Consider checking BIOS updates, ensuring proper airflow, and monitoring temperatures closely.

Check stability by testing each component individually, adjusting voltages or speed as needed. Avoid exceeding 1.4v for the 1700 and 1.45v for RAM.

It’s not reliable at this frequency. Going beyond 4 GHz isn’t practical with standard Zen; you’d need extreme voltage or unusual cooling methods.

ram is stable at 3200 mhz... 1.4 isn't too high; I can go up to 1.45. My temps are good and I have a second triple rad coming. I'll run three rads so temperatures stay under control. Which bios settings should I adjust to push my CPU further and get the FPU accurate? It seems like the issue is CPU-related, since lowering it to 3.6 unlocks the FPU.

You won't be able to increase your CPU speed any further. The Zen FCLK is too low, and adding more clock speed won't help with RAM overclocking. Your CPU is already at its maximum capacity. The IMC is poor, and the interconnects are problematic. It's surprising you reached this stage.

You're already at a stage where you'd need a huge boost in voltage to squeeze more performance from the CPU. Plus, it doesn't really matter how well your temperatures are; high voltage is bad for CPUs. Even if your CPU operates around 40°C under full load with just 1.5v, that's still problematic. Considering these factors, I'd say you've already hit a solid and fortunate point.

Others have managed it with a Ryzen 7 1700. If I have to lower my RAM speed, that would be the next step.

Hi, The fact is, if you drop your ram speed, your CPU effective speed will drop as well. Zen cores depends a lot on ram speed. If you're stable at this point and not further with the parameters that you mentionned, then I consider, like the others, that you most likely reached the limit point, and trust me as well, 1.4 v at this temperature on that clock speed and that ram speed is really impressive for a ryzen 7 1700. You won a gold chip at the silicon lottery. Regards.
