Overclocking ryzen 5 2600
Hello everyone
Thank you for reaching out. I recently purchased a Ryzen 5 2600 and a B450 Tomahawk. I’m thinking about overclocking and have a stock cooler, but I’ve seen some online reviews suggesting it’s not worth it. My main question is: should I go ahead? What are the expected maximum speeds and voltages?
I recommend concentrating on refining ram timings and configuring your system for adequate cooling to maintain the chip at a stable 65-70°C (or higher) during operation. After resolving those basics, I’d evaluate PBO to determine the performance gains from running it. If you decide to push a 24/7 overclock, anticipate a peak around 4.1 GHz (varies by chip) and aim to keep the CPU voltage well below 1.4V.
