I’m sure you’re thinking about taking your build further, but I’m still not fully informed about overclocking. Given how much you’ve invested, it’s smart to be cautious. If you’d like some guidance, I can suggest ways to manage BIOS settings or check if your hardware supports stable OC without risking damage. Let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Yes, the application of the thermal paste needs to be precise and even.

Temperatures appear excessively high during idle. Verify the thermal paste is properly adhering, confirm the AIO lacks the plastic removal cap, and ensure it applies sufficient pressure to the socket. Regarding BIOS/overclocking, I own an ASUS motherboard (though it's an older model), and it seems unusual for it to overclock independently. Reset the BIOS settings, then navigate to Advanced mode and disable any overclock options, setting all values to Auto. While in BIOS, ensure fans have a functional curve—standard curves work fine. Also, check that both fans and the pump are rotating; live RPM readings should be displayed.

Confirm thermal grease application is correct. Ensure AIO heatsink is securely mounted. The "Overclocking 13%" issue during ASUS ROG startup may stem from AI Overclocking. Resolve it by setting optimal configurations in your BIOS, which will remove any automatic AI adjustments.

It seems like you're referring to a situation that's been going on for a while, and you haven't encountered any problems recently.

I’m sure your AIO was set up properly, the sticker is off, and everything seems fine. Could it be that you should reapply the thermal paste again? The temperature spikes to 80 during startup and drops to 52 while idling. Even after adjusting the fan curve in AI Suite to make it more aggressive, it still can’t go below 50. Browsing the web caused it to jump to 70.

Prepare the thermal paste by cleaning the area and reapplying it lightly. Avoid excess; it won’t work well if it leaks out when pressed against the cold plate. A small amount at the CPU’s center is sufficient.

Fasten everything evenly using the same number of turns on each side, alternating them. Keep repeating until all fasteners are secure. An uneven pump setup leads to bad contact between the cold plate and CPU. This reduces heat transfer, so ensure proper alignment.
