Mobo: MSI A68HM-E33 V2

The rating of 1600 won't work for the model 1866.

Does it really have to be limited to 1866MHZ? In any case?

This won't be stable and you wouldn't perceive any difference in performance.

It won't be stable and you wouldn't notice any performance change. Some threads on the forum mentioned improvements, and APUs do support speeds around 1866Mhz.
