I was attempting to boost my RAM again after the previous try failed. I have an H series board with an i5 7400 and 8GB RAM. I managed to overclock the GPU without any special hardware, but my RAM didn’t reach 2666MHz even with XMP enabled. Could it be the RAM type or the H board itself affecting the result?

The H110 chipset operates at a maximum of 2400Mhz, which is a deliberately set limit.

It's great you can earn 2400, most H110 boards run at the standard 2133.
