I'm checking if you need to align your RAM speed with the CPU speed. The CPU model you're considering is the i9 9900k, and Intel specifies DDR4-2666 memory types. Make sure your RAM matches those specifications.

Activating an XMP profile represents a form of overclocking, requiring only a few adjustments in the BIOS. I think all suitable boards should handle it, but it's wise to opt for Z390 nonetheless—it was the leading CPU model. (It's also worth mentioning that K CPUs tend to consume more power and have higher leakage, whereas Non-K CPUs usually have lower leakage but are constrained by multiplier settings to achieve advertised efficiency.)

The K series chips work well with the right motherboard (Z class), enabling you to use nearly any memory speed. The i9-9900k seems a bit unusual, so better options would be the i7-10700k or i7-11700k. For the 10 core setup, the i9-10850k is recommended.

You don’t have to overclock the RAM to achieve the desired speed. It’s not necessary. Also, the reason for getting the i9 9900K is because I’m receiving it at a very low cost from a friend.

I own an HP i5 HP EliteBook 840 G3 professional series laptop for work. I don’t often play games in my free time. When I do, it creates a speed noise. I mainly use AMONG US, PUBF, and other mini-games with Bluestack. With 8 GB RAM, what steps should I take to boost system performance?
