Overclocking R7 2700 on b450m gaming plus
Can the MSI b450m or b450 gaming plus support a stable OC of R7 2700 at 4.2Ghz? I'm considering using a celsius s24 AIO for cooling. Would it be better to opt for an x470 motherboard with more VRMs instead? 4.2Ghz isn't essential, but it would be nice. I can manage with an OC between 4.0Ghz and 4.1Ghz. Newegg links provided.
What kind of tasks will you be handling? For typical gaming, it's fine to proceed. However, if your workload involves heavy demands—such as extended rendering sessions or video encoding that strain multiple cores for long periods—you may benefit from a higher phase-count GPU, like the X470 Gaming Pro Carbon.
