Overclocking Q8400
Overclocking Q8400
Hello, I have some queries about overclocking my old Q8400 with an Asus P5E WS Pro board. I've already set it to 3.67Ghz at 1.328V, but the main issue is with the RAM. I can successfully overclock the CPU using RAM, but I haven't adjusted the timings yet. I achieved a stable overclock at 2.02V with RAM, running at 914Mhz. It has four sticks—two with Kingstons at 800Mhz, one with a Transcendence chip, and another with Corsair 667 in all 8GB. My questions are: have I hit the limit of what's achievable, or can I push further? Also, what is the maximum voltage I can apply without causing issues like blue screens? The fan spins directly to the RAM, and CPU temperatures are around 61°C under load with Arctic Cooling Freezer 7.
