Each time I turn off my computer, it reports that my overclocking attempt was unsuccessful. That’s normal, but sometimes it keeps showing errors even though I’m not actively overclocking. What’s going on here?

It might be due to excessive RAM configurations.

What is your current configuration? According to geofelt, it seems to be RAM. To reset, disconnect the computer from power and remove the battery from the main board.

It might be due to the RAM configuration being set too high. Could you explain a little more about that? I haven't adjusted any settings since setting up the computer, and I didn't even change the default options.

Your system setup is likely based on RAM. You mentioned an ASUS z170-a motherboard with two 8GB Corsair DDR4 sticks. You've cleared your BIOS twice but the problem persists. The computer works normally except when it restarts, at which point it displays an overclocking failure message. Opening BIOS doesn't seem to resolve the issue, and no changes have been made despite attempts.

What are the precise RAM specifications or model details? You might have to adjust the settings yourself.

Occasionally "load optimized defaults" refers to an overclock configuration, not a minimal setup.
Maintain standard defaults, especially for RAM.

What are the precise RAM specifications? You might need to adjust the settings yourself. I own a Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4-3000 RAM.

Jinster12 asked about the system configuration. Geofelt mentioned it's likely RAM, suggesting clearing the BIOS by unplugging the computer and removing the main board battery. The user has an ASUS z170-a motherboard with two 8GB Corsair DDR4 sticks but still faces issues. Restarting causes overclocking warnings in BIOS without changes, and the case light blinks when powering off. The suspect is an older power supply lacking low voltage power.
