Hello everyone, my question is pretty straight forward. I have a MSI Gaming 5 z97 motherboard and a Intel i5 4690k. I was wondering if there was a setting somewhere in the bios that makes the CPU run at it's max clock all the time so it doesn't get all the way down to - lets say 800MHz - then have to run back up to the 4.2GHz I have it at? I'm not sure if this is a real setting but I thought I saw something about it on a ASUS motherboard.
If more info is needed let me know. Thanks in advance for the help!

When maintaining the CPU clock speed without altering it, this function is referred to as Intel SpeedStep. It allows you to turn it off for optimal performance.
