So I've had my 9900k for a few days now and decided to try overclocking. I followed der8auer's YouTube tutorial on boosting it to 5ghz, except for the core voltage which is at 1.26v. I ran Cinebench and Prime95, and the screenshot was taken after about 45 minutes of Prime95. I'm not entirely sure if this method is right, but I set my AVX to -3 and am pleased with the outcome. My setup includes an I9 9900k, Asus Maximus Hero XI, 64GB Corsair RAM, Corsair H105i Pro AIO, and three 140mm intake fans plus one 140mm exhaust fan.

Configure AVX to none or auto and observe the results. There is still ample thermal capacity remaining at 4.7.

I concur with bmockeg.
Enable AVX at 0 or auto. The 9900k should manage 5GHz when AVX offset is 0.
Even the 7700k performs well at 5GHz with AVX offset set to 0.
