Hello. Your laptop is ASUS ROG GL503GE with an I7-8750H processor at 2.20GHz, GTX 1050Ti, and 16gigs of DDR4 RAM at 3000MHz. Is it possible to overclock it? You've already tried using the built-in ROG interface but couldn't proceed. Let me know how I can assist further. Best regards.

there are many reasons why you shouldn't overclock your laptop, but the biggest one is thermal management. the cooler in a laptop is designed to handle the CPU at normal speeds. if you try to overclock it, temperatures will rise and the CPU might slow down. generally, this isn't a good idea and often isn't feasible.

You might not be able to significantly boost the CPU, but you can try overclocking the GPU using Afterburner. However, it's generally not recommended to overclock laptops. Their cooling systems may struggle to cope. Laptops have limited room for heat dissipation and are engineered with specific thermal characteristics. Adjusting them is not ideal. Overclocking is best suited for well-cooled, ventilated desktop setups equipped with high-quality hardware like specialized motherboards, CPUs paired with aftermarket coolers, and powerful video cards.

If you appreciate your laptop and enjoy gaming at a reasonable pace, skip OC. It will increase the 25w draw and double its heat generation. The next issues will be thermal throttling, dropped frames, battery drain, glitches, and shutdowns. All for @5-10fps.

It's possible to boost the graphics card's performance, such as using MSI Afterburner. The overclocking range might be smaller than for desktop cards, and adjusting the voltage isn't likely.
