Overclocking issues with the ASROCK B450 A/C system
Hello everyone, after accidentally opening up Task Manager and checking my CPU and RAM, I noticed that my original OC settings are missing.
Ryzen 7 1700 overclocked to 3.9 GHz with 1.4V
DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB set to 3200MHZ
Currently, the base speed is listed as 3.00 GHz and RAM speed at 2133. I attempted to adjust these in the BIOS (enabled XMP) but nothing changed.
BIOS version is P1.40 – possibly an update issue?
I reset the BIOS to factory settings and modified the configurations, yet Windows still doesn’t reflect any changes.
Motherboard: ASROCK b450 a/c

Are you sure? The previous setting of 3.7 ghz (boost clock) didn't resolve the issue.
The change in RAM speed or clock speed wasn't observed because no adjustments were made to those settings.
When I turned off XMP, my CPU actually ran at a higher speed. However, my RAM didn't show any improvement. This might indicate a problem with my RAM—perhaps one of the sticks wasn't installed correctly? I recall that one of them wouldn't fully secure after hours of attempts, so I gave up.
I looked at my RAM slots and found one wasn't working properly. After reinserting them, everything functioned correctly! Thanks for the advice—I wouldn't have guessed it was my RAM.
