Hello, this is my initial entry in the forums. I've been searching for solutions without success, as my issue involves strange behavior every time I restart or enter BIOS after a reboot. When I power off and turn it back on, the PC briefly enters a boot mode that causes fans to run heavily before failing to start properly. To fix this, I have to hold the power button for a while before restarting, which then takes 2-4 seconds and displays an "Overclocking failed!" message. After entering BIOS and exiting automatically, the system restarts normally. This happens both when I switch to BIOS mode and when downloading programs that require a restart.

My PC specifications are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card
Case: NZXT H440 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Since I built the PC, I notice the ASUS logo appears with "Overclocked 15%" each time I boot it, but I haven't attempted any overclocking.

When XMP is activated for 3000 DRAM, it could have increased the CPU's clock speed slightly.

same issue there. I'm not sure what's happening with this new stuff, my computer didn't boot at all today after waking up. It was the first time I had to check the keyboard and mouse manually. After restarting, it was the same problem as you mentioned with the F1 button.

If you turned on XMP for 3000 DRAM it might have caused a minor performance boost on the CPU
I’m experiencing the same problem. When I apply XMP or Performance Optimizer it doesn’t restart properly and after a hard shutdown it displays an error saying overclock failed.

Daithy shared their experience regarding XMP settings on 3000 DRAM, noting a possible performance boost but also encountering similar issues. They mentioned the problem persists when using XMP or Performance Optimizer, failing to restart and displaying an error message upon hard shutdown. They suggest starting a separate thread for further investigation.

If XMP is enabled for 3000 DRAM it might have caused a minor performance boost on the CPU.
I'm experiencing the same issue too. When I apply XMP or Performance Optimizer, it fails to restart and after a hard shutdown it reports 'overclock failed'.
_____________
Should start your own thread
Why? I have identical specs, the same problem, and no solution has been found. It's not a hijack, just a continuation.
