overclocking issues related to voltage on the AMD 8320 processor
I'm testing it on an ASUS ROG board and it should be easy, but I'm having trouble finding a good overclock setting. I can't go above 4.2 without raising the voltage too much—over 1.48 is risky. I managed to get stable at 4.4 with a voltage of 1.51 for about 5 to 6 months, and then it stopped working properly. It also triggered the clear CMOS button on accident, and I can't get anything to stick without using very high voltages. Not sure what's happening. Any suggestions? No cooling problems either.
I looked into the basics, but wasn’t sure about the load line. Honestly, I’ve never heard of it and it seems unlikely to be used. What exactly is it?
Other settings include ram frequency, number of cpus, and htlink speed.
I didn't mention blue screening yesterday, but I can only reach 4.2 when using a current of 1.49 or higher in voltage. I'm not sure why this is happening suddenly.
I forgot to mention I was blue screening yesterday and I can only reach 4.2 by adjusting at 1.49 or raising the voltage... I just don’t understand why it’s suddenly an issue.
No, that’s not normal. Even with my bad drawing and a weak OCR board, I still get 4.2 on 1.425 stable. You mentioned you reset your CMOS by accident, so I’ll try resetting again if you haven’t already. Use the button or jumper and remove the battery. Do both if possible. Something seems off here. Have you repeated the reset like that before?
