Hi, I recently upgraded my PC from an AMD FX 6350 with 16GB RAM, GTX 960 to newer parts, AMD Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1060 3GB, and 8GB DDR4 RAM. My current RAM speed is 2133MHz, but it was advertised to reach 2666MHz. I went into the BIOS, tried overclocking both the RAM and CPU, saved the changes, and then Windows started repairing the system and diagnosing. After that, I restarted and everything worked fine, though the BIOS settings weren’t saved. My motherboard is an ASRock A550 PRO4, and I previously had another ASRock board that I could easily overclock. I’m not sure what’s happening now. Additionally, I notice some FPS drops in games like COD Ww2, usually around 54-60 FPS on high settings, but it stutters about 3-4 times per game, which is quite bothersome. I’d appreciate your help and thanks ahead of time.

Be on 3.2 really, buddy. A single stick of lpx is double-sided Hynix, so it might be capped at 2400 or 2666 MB. 3.2 also brings agesa 1.6b, which provides improved RAM compatibility and automatic profiling using the JEDEC table—so it should handle 2666 MHz without any manual adjustments.

What RAM exactly??
Which BIOS version is your board running? (Use cpu-z)
Is this a fresh Windows installation?

It's a corsair revenge for lpx 2666
I installed the CPU on the motherboard and under the BIOS, it shows version P3.00
Indeed, it's a fresh and original Windows 10 setup since I couldn't afford to purchase a license.

I wouldn't push anyone to bios update unless they feel comfortable doing it , another guy bricked his gigabyte board yesterday through no fault of his own.
Bios 3.2 is better for ram speeds (if you're having issues) but Ill leave it up to you.
Ive flashed my pro 4 4 times from new with no issue , there is always a risk , no matter how slight, of bricking.
