Hey guys,
I put together a new PC setup last week and ran into some booting problems with Windows. At first I thought it was due to BIOS settings, since I enabled XMP and could manually select the boot drive. The XMP settings looked correct and performance seemed normal. The next day I discovered the issue still existed, so I had to restart the PC, which displayed a black screen without the monitor lighting up. After turning it off with the power button, I was able to access BIOS (since the system was shut down) and reset the boot settings. But even then, Windows wouldn’t boot without BIOS enabled. Eventually, I tried disabling XMP and the PC managed to boot on its own.

Now I’m a bit confused about what to do with my 3600MHz RAM. Should I attempt to overclock them without using XMP?
Here’s my current setup:
Intel Core i9 11900K
Asus TUF Gaming B560
Corsair 32GB KIT DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Vengeance RGB
Nvidia RTX 2070

Check your RAM performance.
Use memtest86 or memtest86+.
They start from a USB drive and don’t require Windows.
You can get them from:
MemTest86 - Official Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool
www.memtest86.com
MemTest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool
www.memtest.org
A successful full run with no errors suggests your RAM is fine.
Additional passes may reveal problems, but they are time-consuming.
It’s likely unnecessary unless you strongly suspect a memory issue.
Are your motherboard BIOS and driver settings up to date?

Thank you for your prompt reply. The entire booting problem seems linked to the XMP settings, which I suspect. I can achieve 2933MHz with 1,25V/1.35V, but even higher voltages don’t help much. I haven’t adjusted the RAM timings yet because I’m still not fully clear on the matter. The RAM should support at least 3600MHz, though the CPU memory manager has a soft limit of 3200, and with overclocking (OC), it might be able to go higher. The motherboard should handle up to 5000MHz. The BIOS doesn’t require an update through its software (Ai something), and I don’t think ME does either. I plan to run memtest tonight, but I’m not sure it’s as important if I can’t even reach the required speed. I’m really unsure what to do next. Should I consider getting a RAM kit from another manufacturer?

Reach out to Corsair customer support, specifically the ram guys. They've been helpful before. Ram will offer a lifetime warranty. However, initially they'll need to check the memtest results first. It's important to confirm with you that you're using a 32gb kit; buying separate sticks might cause problems even if they have the same part number.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely try contacting their support. I ran some smaller memtests yesterday that were capable to run in windows. and it didnt show any errors when clocked to 2933MHz. And I will run the off-windows memtest today since I had no flashdrive yesterday.
And yes its a kit NOT bought separately.
Its a CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18 if thats what you were referring to.
Thaiphoon burner read

And I am not familiar with the second thing you mentioned but I hope this is what you wanted to see?

Thanks again guys.

it's located on the RAM stick itself, the label is there, something needs to change.

Ensure the BIOS is updated to the newest version first, then activate XMP/D.O.C.P settings. Adjust the CPU System Agent Voltage to 1.2v, set CPU VCCIO to 1.15v, and configure BCLK at 100.05. Save and exit. If successful, use another timing configurator read for further testing.
