Overclocking Intel i5 650 without motherboard assistance
Hey everyone, sorry for bringing this up again. I came across some details about bio mods and noticed my computer model shares the same motherboard as one of them. (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/archive/...-4670.html) There isn’t much information available, but it seems there’s a mod that can unlock certain options, including an unlock voltage feature. Do any of you have experience with this? Also, can I overclock the 7950 voltage using my OEM motherboard? Thanks a lot!
Do you know any method to create a backup of the current BIOS, so if something goes wrong it can be applied? I haven’t flashed a BIOS before, so I’m not very familiar with this. The person suggested having a backup ready. My concern is, if the BIOS he made doesn’t work, will I end up bricking the motherboard? Can I try to flash it back to the original later? Or is there no hope?
The software that updates the bios usually allows saving a backup. The issue arises with a faulty flash, causing the system to fail completely since the board lacks a working bios. A CD or flash drive might help temporarily, but it needs a built-in fail-safe.
