overclocking i7-4790k using msi z97s sli krait edition
Hello everyone, I own a 4790k with an MSI z97s SLI Krait edition and recently added a Kraken x62 cooler. I'm planning to attempt an overclock and wanted to double-check if my setup is using all the power efficiently. My CPU runs at 4.5Ghz with a voltage of 1.200V, and I haven't adjusted anything else—core voltage/ring settings remain at default. Just to be sure, is it possible that I'm not utilizing all available power? I'm still getting comfortable with overclocking. 😀
Don't worry, everything is okay.
Try adjusting the settings to 4.5Ghz at 1.25V.
Use a hardware monitor to verify that the CPU core temperature remains at or below 70°C when the CPU is at full load.
I don’t focus much on stress testing; just check if the PC runs smoothly for several hours of gaming without any issues.

What about turbo boost? Should I enable or disable anything else? Also, since I have the Kraken x62, temperatures shouldn’t be a problem.
