Overclocking I5-9600k processor
I'm using a 9600k on a Z390 tomahawk. I've boosted it to 5.1ghz all cores with Corsair Hydro H50, reaching 87°C during Cinebech R15 runs and scoring 2348. I've also increased my RAM from 3200 to 4000. Are there any more chances for improvement?
Could be a constraint, but the exact temperature during Prime95 execution isn't specified here.
For casual overclocking, a better cooler makes sense. But if you intend to rely on the system, you're already in the area where gains are minimal. I assure you, even a modest boost to 200MHz won't be noticeable in everyday tasks. Reaching 5GHz on Coffee Lake was close to the maximum, and the design struggles to maintain performance beyond 5GHz in practical scenarios.
The current setup requires an upgrade, honestly any solid dual tower can handle a 120mm air compressor. Check out the Fuma 2, Peerless Assassin 120, Macho, and Mugen 5 as good upgrade choices. If you're sticking with the air compressor path, look at the Liquid Freezer 240 and 280—they really offer the best value and performance.
