I completed additional checks on the cooler design and side extrusions for my GX300, and I’m confident the D14 will fit perfectly (the part measuring 160mm tall will sit just under the extrusions, leaving plenty of space). I’ll go with the Noctua D14. I’ll place the order and hope it works!
On a related note, I’m considering purchasing another cooler for my wife’s i5 6600 with a locked configuration—no overclocking needed. I’m looking for something quiet yet offering good performance for its price. The classic Cooler Master 212 Evo seems like a solid choice, possibly under half the cost of the D14. Any other recommendations?
Edit: I also came across the Thermaltake Frio Silent 14, which appears to be slightly cheaper than the CM 212 EVO.

It's the same case. No Pure Rock here—just Shadow Rock 2 and Shadow Rock Slim, both priced similarly, roughly $15 higher than the Thermaltake Frio 14 and $10 more than CM 212 Evo.
Both Noctua NH-D14 and Cooler Master 212 Evo fit snugly inside Antec GX300 cases with a little extra space. The official specs seem to cap at 140mm, which is puzzling given my setup uses a Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3.
