Overclocking GTX 1070 has no impact on performance yet it leads to crashes
I recently purchased the OC version of the Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070. I wanted to begin overclocking it, so I searched for tutorials on how to do that, as this is my first attempt. I started with a guide (https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.ph...king-Guide), which should be suitable since it matches the exact card I own. However, whenever I tried to proceed, my system would randomly restart after a few minutes, and I encountered the blue screen twice before it functioned correctly again.
Even after applying the OC and testing in Valley before the crash, I faced the same issues—similar freezes occurred. In this case, the new settings appeared (the first guide showed increased speeds in Valley and Clock/Memory), but they didn’t improve my performance again. When I was using 2.15 gHz clock speed and 4.5 gHz memory speed with MSI afterburner, I didn’t use the ASUS program.
Comparing my original results to others’ results still shows me significantly below average. Can anyone assist me?
