You're aiming for around 4.5GHz and are new to overclocking. It's doable with this configuration. Check the recommended voltages and multipliers for your motherboard and components to begin.

I recently began experimenting with overclocking and found it to be quite straightforward. The 6300 is a highly adaptable CPU, and the MSI 970 board is also excellent for this purpose. For overclocking, the key is to gradually raise the multiplier in tiny steps until instability appears, after which you can increase the voltage until it becomes stable, then adjust from there. There are numerous guides available, but ultimately the results depend on your specific chip; however, many users report achieving 4.2 to 4.6 with a 212 EVO. Good luck!

Thank you, I managed to stabilize at 4.5GHz with good temperatures. After getting a bit clearer on what I was doing, it wasn't that challenging.

Tell me your precise BIOS adjustments that led to the 4.5GHz result, since you're using the same CPU and motherboard. I changed the multiplier to 22.5 and increased the voltage by 1.6. The BIOS behaves oddly—voltage can't just be set freely. You need to adjust the voltage multiplier carefully. Also keep in mind the heat output, as this board and processor both generate a lot of warmth.

I accidentally adjusted it and achieved a 4.5 rating at 1.4v while running under load at 30 degrees Celsius. This was my first overclocking attempt!

Sure, just to confirm—did you make any changes to the RAM specifications for the overclock?

No adjustments needed for RAM settings, just modify the multiplier and voltage if necessary.

Nariman Khorshidi asked about the changes made for the overclock. He noted the setup was identical to his own and wondered if any RAM specifications were altered. He mentioned that adjustments to RAM could improve performance but the current configuration functions adequately. He offered good wishes.
